A new chapter.

Hello, new logo!

2021 was a very successful year for Digicash by Payconiq. We have become the most used digital payment solution in Luxembourg (TNS Ilres 2021). We gained 40% users, increased transactions by 60% and, got Raiffeisen.

Since the takeover of Digicash in 2017, we have now successfully immersed itself in the payment habits of Luxembourg users. And thanks to the strong partnership with Luxembourg banks and merchants to help build on the considerable efforts made over the past few years, Payconiq has achieved its goal of creating one of the most advanced mobile payment platforms in Europe: in Luxembourg through Digicash by Payconiq, in Belgium with Payconiq by Bancontact and in the Netherlands via Payconiq.

As a natural progression, Digicash is now Payconiq and brings uniformity throughout the Benelux. From today, users will be able to see the new logo on their favourite digital payment solution.

We have changed, but we’re keeping our promises.

Not the same name, but still the same.

  • We’re still the preferred mobile payment app in Luxembourg.
  • We’re still working closely with the banks in Luxembourg.
  • We still have strong footpring in Luxembourg with our Head office here.

Why is Digicash becoming Payconiq?2021-09-24T12:58:11+02:00

Today we are launching a new logo. We loved our old logo but it was time to refresh and modernize it. This transition was done smoothly for our partners, merchants and users. In January 2020, we changed our logo and brand first with “Digicash by Payconiq”. Now it’s time to take the next step and move to “Payconiq”.

By joining forces with Payconiq, Digicash wanted to be part of the future of mobile payments in Europe.

Payconiq is a Luxembourg-based mobile payment company and operates interoperable payment solutions in Luxembourg (under the brand Digicash by Payconiq), Belgium (under the brand Payconiq by Bancontact), and the Netherlands (under the brand Payconiq).

Payconiq works closely with major European banks to enable consumers to pay bills, online, in stores and between individuals with a smartphone. Payconiq International works with 90,000 merchants and several international payment service providers throughout the Benelux. Its payment platform connects partners and payment systems and enables them to offer their customers fast, reliable and innovative payment products.

Payconiq is the first payment company to have implemented interoperability in a European region. In Luxembourg, under the Digicash by Payconiq brand, in Belgium, under the Payconiq by Bancontact brand, and in the Netherlands, under the Payconiq brand.

We wanted to be consistent with Belgium and the Netherlands. That’s why it seemed logical to change our name to Payconiq.

Not the same name but still us:

– We are still the preferred mobile payment app in Luxembourg.

– We still work closely with banks in Luxembourg.

– We still have a strong foothold in Luxembourg with our headquarters here.

With Payconiq, we offer more value: cross-border payments, a scalable platform, new benefits for merchants and users by the end of the year,…

Does the Digicash brand still exist?2021-09-24T12:57:26+02:00

No, the Digicash brand no longer exists.

By becoming Payconiq, we want to be consistent with Belgium and the Netherlands, which also use the Payconiq brand.

Since December 2020, the Digicash QR codes have been gradually replaced by Payconiq QR codes. The merchants, for their part, are now using the Payconiq payment platform instead of Digicash. Thanks to this change of platform, customers from Belgium and the Netherlands who use Payconiq can pay in partner stores in Luxembourg.

Since the end of September 2021, the apps have also been renamed to Payconiq.

What does this change for me as a Digicash user?2021-09-24T12:56:43+02:00

This new feature allows you to scan Payconiq QR codes, in Luxembourg, Belgium or the Netherlands. You will also be able to send (and receive) money to your friends or receive money from your friends who use the Payconiq app.

Do I have to download a new app?2021-09-24T12:56:02+02:00

No, you do not have to download a new app. Since the end of September2021, an update of your app is available. As you can see, the icon, the logo and the name of the app have been changed. Besides that, there is no change.
